Radio Addenbrooke’s Chairman Richard Saunders features in the July 2017 Volume 1, Issue 4 edition of 'Advisor', Addenbrooke's Volunteers Information and Events Review magazine.

Patients at Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie can once again listen to a friendly selection of music, news and chat as Radio Addenbrooke’s returns to the airwaves. The refurbished studio was officially re-opened on Wednesday by the Mayor of Cambridge, Cllr Gerri Bird.

On 22 April there will be a formal opening of the new studio to say thank you to CUH & ACT for supporting this project. Being disabled herself the Mayor of Cambridge, Gerri Bird has agreed to ‘cut the ribbon’ in the presence of representatives of Addenbrooke's Hospital and ACT.

The Committee will welcome guests in the boardroom and will then try and ‘squeeze’ most of them into the studio for the ribbon cutting.

Radio Addenbrooke's has been awarded top prize at the National Hospital Radio Awards for their documentary about the Clown Doctors, who entertain patients on the children's wards at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

In April 2004, fifty years after producing its first ever show, Radio Addenbrooke’s reached the pinnacle of hospital broadcasting when it was named “Station of the Year” by the Hospital Broadcasting Association.

Over fifty of the 250 HBA member stations competed for the top award, which involves submitting a fifteen minute documentary about your station. We were announced as winners at the 2004 National Hospital Radio Awards Ceremony in Leeds. It was the first time that we had submitted an entry!
